Condescension
Recommendation – How to read the words in the New Dictionary:
A word is a vessel through which essence, energy passes. The word is never the thing itself.
What is the real “thing”? It is good to answer this question in silence.
Therefore the invitation to this dictionary is “tricky”; it seems like it tries to replace one “definition” with another “definition” but it does not. This dictionary is an opportunity to look at a word from a different perspective than we are used to. And ask what is the essence of this word, coming from the mystery? From nature? From the inconceivable knowing that everything is one, everything is motion and I am a part of it?
From here you will find that the new “definition” sometimes sounds poetic or even irritating to the mind, because it cannot understand it. It’s OK. Let the words be a tool and listen to the energy that passes through them. That’s exactly what we came here to do.
Coming out of the knowing that everything is connected and everything is in motion:
When we are driven by truth and not by social codes, it becomes clear that some people are indeed better or more successful than others in certain areas or fields. Likewise, some people are actually more spiritually developed than others and can see the truth and the nature of things better than those who are stuck in an invented world created by the mind.
The reality created: If we recognize this reality, it will benefit those who wish to learn or grow from people who are indeed better than them in certain areas or who are more developed spiritually. It will open new fields of possibility and self-expression for those who wish to be taught or supported.
At the same, it will be clear that just because a person is less successful or has not achieved as much in these specific areas does not mean that he is less capable or has less wonder or infinite beauty.
A person, by virtue of his or her existence, is an energy that produces life. We are all one soul. We are all made of the same fabric. We are all eternal beauty. Always.
Thus, the more developed person will never see in the other something less worthy. Rather, he will view him as a partner in a mutual dance. By our collective participation in this dance, we can emerge from the confusion and beliefs to which we have become accustomed and remember the true nature of ourselves and the world.
“I am not condescending – I see what you don’t see and if you agree to see it and go with me, it will bring to your life beauty and joy that words cannot describe.”
We got used to seeing…
Condescension as a behavior that results from the thought that I am better than someone else and thus I am worth more than him. The source of condescension is the desire to be in a position of power, to have the ability to influence and be built up from this higher status. The assumption is that some are more valuable than others.
The reality created: There are power struggles, some which come from condescension built into society (determining what’s okay and what’s not) and some which come from the desire to fight against that condescension and the attempt to gain strength and societal status through the de-legitimization of the arrogant. What results is competition, separation, pain, mutual reduction.
